What in the world is a blog?!

When I first started to read the syllabus for this class, I noticed that we have to blog three times a week and I immediately thought to myself, “What in the world does blogging mean”? So being curious, I went online and did some research on blogs and found them to be very fascinating. At first, I thought blogs were strictly written by students in college but as I researched I found out that blogs are everywhere. Many big newspaper companies have blogs on their websites, written by professional editors and writers. They include a variety of topics from life lessons to health and politics.  For the people that think reading is a boring, I realized blogs are the perfect opportunity for them to start enjoying reading. Although Blogs are short, they are very informative. Many people believe informative writing is boring but not with blogs! Many blogs include an interesting background and a new way of reading. While I was reading, I enjoyed how blogs are teaching you about the topic, but also about the writer. As I started to write my blog, the first thing I thought about was my audience. I didn't want my blog to be boring and blunt. I wanted my reader to read the blog and enjoy doing it so much that he wants to read it again. I also wanted the reader to learn about me as well as my topic. I felt that this is very important because as a blogger you want people to return to your blog and really understand you and your writing. Although these are my first couple of day’s blogging, I truly enjoy it. Blogging brings out a part of me that I've never seen before. As a blogger I feel as if I’m helping others while I’m helping myself. While I write these blogs I start to concrete my thoughts, and my beliefs. My goal as a young blogger is to continue blogging after this course ends.
